"My son started working with Lori and her team during his 4th grade year, and is now entering the 6th grade. I have
complete confidence in his ability to succeed in middle school. Prior to working with Lori, homework was a constant source of frustration, and stress in our household. This has changed completely. My son now takes responsibility for completing his homework, and does not need to be constantly reminded. Lori worked closely with us to understand where we thought he had the most challenges, she also looked at his report card and tailored her efforts based on this. An example of the impact this experience has had for my son is with regard to his organizational skills. While not directly an academic topic, this is especially challenging for him, and negatively impacted his academic performance due to things such as losing assignments, or not bringing home the appropriate material. Lori and her team recognized this, and worked directly with him on this during each session. He now has a toolkit of organizational skills which did not come naturally for him. I think the quote from him after his first session with Lori probably conveys our experience best. He was extremely hesitant, nervous, and somewhat embarrased to be going to "a tutor". When asked if he would like to go back after the first session, he responded with unbridled enthusiam 'Oh yes, I can't wait to go back there again!' "

"I cannot say enough about the tutoring provided by Lori and her team. My daughter began tutoring this year, and within a matter of weeks, raised her math grade by two grade levels. Lori and her team have a way with kids. They build confidence and help children realize their ability to succeed. She takes an active interest in her students, and will go out of her way to accommodate a child's hectic schedule. My daughter looks forward to her weekly sessions. As a result, she now looks forward to her math class, too! For any parent who knows their child can do the work, Lori and her team are the ones that will help get your child over the hump. Once things 'click', it's amazing to see their newfound confidence and eagerness to learn more."

"I have been a student of Fall City Tutoring Services for 4 years and they have greatly effected my grades. The first year, my writing increased by three grade levels. They have saved me from failure so many times, I can't remember them all. They have guided me through 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, so this website is my gift to them. I hope you choose this group of amazing individuals to help your child."

"My children have been seeing Lori Herstrom for tutoring needs over the past several years. Each of my children has very different academic needs. My now 7th grader wanted to stay challenged in class and had the opportunity to do “pre-teaching” with Lori. Meaning, Lori was able to teach and have my child practice skills that were a lesson ahead of where the class was currently. The extra skills practice helped my child to stay challenged as well as be confident in her knowledge of the lessons being taught. My now 5th grader needed help in test taking techniques as well as extra practice in some academic areas. Lori was able to create tutoring sessions to target these areas and keep my child focused on the task at hand. Both of my children are developing into confident students who actively participate in class and are enjoying school. I contribute much of their success to Lori and her ability to match my children’s tutoring sessions to their unique needs. Thank you, Lori, for helping my kids enjoy school!"
